Direct answer: a landed cost is not one factory number

A useful landed-cost decision begins with a comparable RFQ. Two quotations cannot be compared when they refer to different capacities, components, electrical versions, accessories, packing, carton quantities, trade terms or inspection scopes. A lower factory total can produce a higher cost per saleable unit when the carton is larger, the packing is incomplete, the destination version is wrong or an approval file must be rebuilt after production begins.

For a South American order, create one row for every SKU and destination version. The row should connect the exact model, approved sample, electrical or charging identity, accessories, language, barcode, importer information, individual packing, master carton, order quantity, shipment basis, destination port and target warehouse date. Values controlled by the factory can then be separated from freight, customs, tax and local distribution inputs supplied by the buyer, forwarder, customs broker or qualified local adviser.

Decision rule

Compare cost per saleable unit only after the product scope, carton basis, shipment basis and destination inputs describe the same commercial project.

Build one controlled row for every SKU and country version

Do not use one line called “air fryer” or “fan” for several models. Record the supplier, catalog source, model code, capacity or size, rated input, voltage, frequency, plug or charging route, material, primary components, color, accessories, manual language, label, barcode, individual pack, units per carton, carton dimensions, net weight, gross weight, quantity, sample reference and approval status. Where two source files conflict, disclose the conflict and keep the row unresolved until a current sample or signed specification confirms the order basis.

Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish-language artwork should not share one uncontrolled file. Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina and Ecuador also should not be treated as one universal electrical, plug, marking, importer or customs version. Country pages on this site provide a starting route, but the final version must be confirmed for the exact product, buyer channel and shipment.

Required row fields

Country / buyer channel / category / exact model / version reference / quantity / electrical or charging identity / accessories / language / OEM files / individual pack / carton quantity / carton dimensions / weights / trade term / destination / inspection scope / approval status.

Normalize EXW and FOB quotation boundaries

An EXW quotation and an FOB quotation do not describe the same responsibility boundary. Ask each supplier to state the named place or port, quotation validity, currency, included packing, export handling, documentation basis, inspection cost treatment and exclusions. Do not add an estimated freight figure to one supplier while accepting a fully quoted shipment basis from another. Record the same scope in the comparison sheet and leave unknown destination items visibly open.

The factory can quote the controlled product and agreed shipment basis after the commercial file is clear. Ocean or air freight, insurance, destination terminal charges, customs brokerage, duties, taxes, local compliance activity, inland delivery and finance costs can change outside the factory quotation. Obtain current destination values from qualified parties for the selected country, tariff classification, route, shipment date and importer. Yaoyuan Electric does not publish fixed duty, tax or freight rates.

Turn carton data into a freight-ready calculation

Request units per carton, carton length, width and height, net weight, gross weight and total carton count for every SKU. Recalculate carton volume from current dimensions and compare it with the stated CBM. For mixed containers, allocate space by SKU and confirm whether the loading plan uses floor loading, pallets or another method. A catalog image, estimated carton or old packing record is not enough for a final freight decision.

Bulky appliances can change the economics of a product mix even when the unit price is attractive. Compact water pumps or accessories may use space differently from air fryers, fans and rice cookers. The objective is not to fill every remaining gap with unrelated products. The objective is to build a saleable assortment whose quantities, cartons, working capital and receiving plan match the buyer's channel. Use the carton data and freight quotation guide before releasing a mixed-container order.

Calculate cost per saleable unit, not cost per produced unit

Start with the normalized product and packing cost. Add the buyer's current freight, insurance, destination, customs, tax, brokerage, banking, finance, inland delivery, inspection, warehousing and launch inputs. Then test the calculation against saleable units rather than assuming every produced unit becomes sellable inventory. A buyer may choose to include a documented allowance for inspection findings, transit damage, returns, spare parts or service support based on its own channel experience.

This calculation does not guarantee margin or sales. It provides a controlled basis for comparing suppliers, setting internal buying limits and deciding whether the project should move to sampling. The importer determines resale price, local operating cost, inventory risk and commercial viability. The factory's role is to provide accurate product, packing, quantity and agreed shipment inputs for the approved scope.

Work backward from the warehouse-ready date

A seasonal selling window is useful only when converted into a receiving plan. Start with the date inventory must be available in the buyer's warehouse. Work backward through local delivery, customs clearance, destination handling, sailing or transit time, origin handling, inspection, packing, production, artwork approval, sample approval, component confirmation and purchase-order release. Add buffers where the buyer's route, local process or approval cycle requires them.

Do not present a factory lead time as a guaranteed warehouse date. Production can only begin after the order basis, deposit or agreed payment condition, approved product version, artwork and required buyer inputs are complete. Freight schedules and destination clearance are controlled by separate parties. A decision-ready RFQ should therefore include the required warehouse date and any non-negotiable market launch date so feasibility can be reviewed before the quotation is accepted.

Separate product families before building the cost file

Air Fryers

Freeze real capacity, basket, control, viewing window, rated input, plug, accessories and carton. Compare the same cooking-system and packing scope.

Blenders

Freeze jar material and capacity, motor identity, blade, coupling, accessories, electrical version and protective packing before comparing unit cost.

Electric Fans

Freeze fan type, size, motor and electrical version, stand or base components, color, grill, controls and carton plan. Plan backward from the selling window.

Rice Cookers

Freeze capacity, inner pot, lid, control, heating route, cable, plug, accessories and carton. Do not compare unlike inner-pot or control versions.

Water Dispenser Pumps

Freeze bottle and hose fit, pump, charging interface, battery, cable or adaptor, water-contact components, packing and transport evidence.

South America Mixed Containers

Keep an independent country version, specification, MOQ, carton, CBM, payload, cost-allocation, approval and inspection record for every SKU.

Route the project to the correct South American country page

Brazil

Use a Portuguese artwork route and confirm the exact electrical, plug, importer, customs and product evidence requirements for the selected model.

Colombia

Define the importer, model, destination, electrical version and any applicable authorization or registration route before final approval.

Chile

Confirm the exact product version, Spanish files, electrical identity, importer requirements and destination process with qualified local parties.

Peru

Connect the selected model and supporting documents to the importer's declaration, classification and clearance route.

Argentina

Freeze the model, Spanish artwork, electrical version, packing and current importer-side market-entry requirements before purchase-order release.

Ecuador

Confirm the importing entity, ECUAPASS process, model file, destination and any applicable product-specific requirements.

Allocate mixed-container costs without hiding weak SKUs

A mixed container can reduce dependence on one category, but it can also hide an uneconomic SKU when freight and destination costs are averaged carelessly. Keep product cost, cartons, volume, weight and quantity visible by SKU. Choose and document one allocation method for shared costs, such as cubic volume, weight, carton count or another buyer-approved commercial rule. Use the same method when comparing alternative assortments.

Review minimum order quantity and supplier source by model. Do not assume every model shown in a catalog is produced in the same facility or can be combined under one unchanged commercial condition. Yaoyuan Electric can coordinate approved small-appliance categories, but each SKU retains its own product, source, evidence, inspection and after-sales boundary.

Connect working capital to the shipment calendar

Map the dates and amounts for sample cost, deposit, balance payment, inspection, freight, destination charges, tax, local delivery and inventory availability. The gap between cash paid and cash recovered can be as important as the factory unit price. Buyers should apply their own financing cost, credit terms and inventory assumptions rather than asking a supplier to promise profitability.

Use decision gates. Gate one confirms the market requirement and shortlist. Gate two confirms the sample, specification and evidence plan. Gate three confirms artwork, commercial terms and purchase order. Gate four confirms production and inspection readiness. Gate five confirms shipment documents and release. A project should not move forward simply because a provisional unit price is attractive.

Inspect the commercial file that was quoted

Inspection should reference the purchase order, exact model, approved sample or specification, quantity, appearance, rated information, plug or charging interface, accessories, basic operation, packing, artwork revision, barcode, carton mark, carton quantity and product-specific checks. Reconcile finished units, packed cartons and shipment quantities. Any accepted deviation should be written and approved by the authorized buyer before release.

Factory, showroom, production, warehouse, inspection and loading evidence can reduce uncertainty, but each item answers a limited question. A loading video does not prove product certification. A certificate cabinet does not prove that every document covers the ordered model. Request current evidence connected to the exact SKU and version. Review the factory evidence center and the customer order lifecycle for the proof routes available on this site.

Frequently asked commercial questions

Can the factory provide one final landed cost?

The factory can provide controlled product, packing and agreed shipment-basis inputs. The importer and its qualified providers confirm current freight, customs, tax, destination and local operating inputs.

Why is the lowest quotation not always the lowest landed cost?

Product scope, packing, carton volume, destination version, evidence, inspection and saleable-unit assumptions can differ. Normalize them before comparing totals.

Can Brazil use the same artwork as Spanish-speaking markets?

Do not assume so. Portuguese and Spanish files should be controlled separately, and the buyer should approve all market text and importer information.

Can several categories share one container?

A mixed-container plan can be discussed after each SKU's model, MOQ, carton, quantity, evidence, approval and inspection scope are confirmed.

Do you publish duties, taxes or public wholesale prices?

No. These depend on the exact product, country, date, importer and commercial scope. Obtain current destination values from qualified local parties.

What is the minimum order quantity?

MOQ starts from 1000 PCS. Model combinations, colors, packing and private-label requirements are confirmed against the actual request.
