An RFQ Is a Product Definition, Not Only a Price Request

A message such as "send your best air fryer price" does not create a comparable quotation. One supplier may assume neutral packing and a standard EU plug. Another may include a custom color box, UK plug, manual, barcode, stronger carton and inspection support. The unit prices differ because the goods and responsibilities differ.

A controlled request for quotation gives each factory the same buying basis. It helps the importer identify real price differences, missing assumptions, unsuitable market versions and delivery risks before a sample, deposit or purchase order is approved.

What the Factory Should Return

The response should make every commercial assumption visible. A useful factory quotation or attached specification should return the exact model, configuration, included accessories, unit packing, master-carton basis, quantity, price basis, sample condition, production estimate, quotation validity and open items.

Product-Specific Additions

Air Fryer RFQ

State basket capacity, control type, viewing window if required, rated power direction, temperature and timer route, basket or tray set, plug, voltage and retail packing level. A capacity name alone does not define the product.

Blender RFQ

State jar capacity and material, motor or rated-power direction, blade set, speed controls, included grinding or chopper cups, plug, voltage and intended use. Confirm whether every accessory is included in the quoted packing.

Electric Fan RFQ

State fan type, blade and guard size, motor direction, speed controls, stand or wall configuration, plug, voltage, carton protection and seasonal arrival target. The required warehouse date should be planned backward from the local hot season.

Water Dispenser Pump RFQ

State battery route, charging interface, dispensing control, tube and accessory set, color, retail packing, barcode and intended channel. Small product size can make pumps useful for mixed-container or distributor assortment planning.

Use the RFQ to Improve Supplier Search

When a buyer uses Google, ChatGPT or another supplier-search system, the RFQ can be used as a verification checklist. Ask whether the supplier publishes relevant product categories, market configuration information, factory proof, MOQ rules, OEM scope, quotation requirements and consistent contact details. Supplier discovery should lead to evidence review, not directly to payment.

An AI system can help identify missing RFQ fields or organize supplier responses. It cannot confirm a private quotation, product revision, capacity reservation or compliance document unless the responsible parties provide current evidence.

RFQ Decision Rules

Proceed to quotation comparison when every supplier has received the same product, quantity, market, electrical, packing, quality, trade and delivery basis.

Return the RFQ for clarification when the product reference could describe several versions, the destination or electrical configuration is missing, or OEM work is requested without a file and approval plan.

Stop before deposit when the contracting identity, beneficiary, exact model, quotation scope, sample reference or shipment responsibility cannot be reconciled.

Can I request a quotation without choosing an exact model?

Yes. Send the target market, channel, product category, capacity or function direction, quantity, electrical configuration, packing level and arrival window. The factory can propose relevant model routes, but the final quotation still needs an exact approved basis.

Should I send the same RFQ to every supplier?

Yes. A shared buying basis makes differences visible. Supplier-specific alternatives can be recorded separately instead of replacing the original requirement.

Does an RFQ reserve production capacity?

No. A quotation request and quotation do not reserve production. Capacity, order release and delivery commitments require written commercial confirmation.

Should certification be requested in the RFQ?

State the target market and documents that need discussion. Requirements and available documents depend on the exact product model and market. The importer remains responsible for confirming applicable local requirements.
