Does machine size establish the bag width a vacuum sealer accepts?
A vacuum sealer's outside dimensions do not establish the bag width it can accept. Ask separately for the bag's open-edge width, its length, the machine's body dimensions and the supplier's stated usable sealing length. If a quotation says only “seal width,” ask which direction and measurement it describes. Matching dimensional information can support a sample shortlist; it does not establish film compatibility, seal strength, vacuum performance or food-preservation results.
Start with the bag requirement, not the longest machine dimension
A buyer replacing an existing machine may already have a bag reference. Another buyer may be planning a new retail kit with bags or rolls that have not been selected. These are different starting points. Name the existing consumable when there is one; otherwise mark the consumable proposal as open instead of treating a photograph as an approved bag specification.
The Yaoyuan Z-K03 catalog record publishes a product-size field of 352 × 66 × 45 mm. That is a body-size reference, not a stated bag-opening limit or usable sealing length. This article supplies neither of those missing figures. Do not turn 352 mm into a maximum bag width, or subtract an assumed allowance to create one.

Keep four dimension fields separate
The word “width” is incomplete without identifying the object and direction. A bag's opening, a machine's housing and a seal marking can all be described with that word while referring to different things. Ask the supplier to label a drawing or photograph, state units and identify the document revision.

If “seal width” appears, do not silently move it into the last row. Ask whether it means the span along the bag opening, the width of the seal band in the other direction, or another measurement. Also distinguish a component's stated length from a supplier-confirmed usable span.

Make the bag description reproducible
“Our usual large bag” is not enough for a supplier to assess the request. Provide its reference and a labeled drawing or photograph showing the intended opening and length. State whether the supplied dimensions describe an empty, flat bag or another defined condition. Keep the original unit visible when a quotation also supplies a conversion.
Identify whether the request concerns a preformed pouch or roll, and record known material, construction and thickness information without filling gaps from appearance. If the construction or opening is not straightforward, request clarification using the actual consumable reference. Do not impose a universal margin or a width formula. Placement and dimensional restrictions need to come from the instructions and evidence for the exact proposed system.
Record a dimension decision without approving the system
The worksheet should produce one of three next steps:
- Dimension information ready for sample comparison: the objects, directions, units and relevant limits are explicit, with no documented dimension conflict. Proceed to a sample review; this is not compatibility or order approval.
- Documented dimension conflict: an explicitly stated limit does not cover the buyer's requirement on the same measurement basis. For example, the supplier may state a maximum bag-opening width below the required opening. Request a revised proposal before treating it as a candidate for that requirement.
- Pending dimensional evidence: a value, direction, limit or reference is missing or ambiguous. Keep the affected field open and ask for clarification; do not rank the offers using a guessed figure.
Keep this decision with the supplier response and consumable reference. A changed bag or machine version needs a fresh review of the affected dimensions, not automatic acceptance because the product name is unchanged.
Hand the shortlist to complete-system approval
Dimensional clarity addresses only part of the buying decision. The exact machine and consumable still need an agreed operating review, with instructions, accessories and acceptance evidence tied to the proposed version. Any practical evaluation should follow the applicable product instructions and an agreed method under appropriate supervision. This article does not provide operating settings or test results.

Can two quotations using “seal width” be compared directly?
Only after both suppliers define the object, direction, units and applicable version. Matching numbers alone do not show that the fields describe the same dimension.
If the dimensions appear suitable, is the bag approved?
No. Dimensional review is a shortlisting step. The exact machine-and-consumable combination still needs the separate sample and operating evidence agreed for the project.
